About this app
Brotato puts you in control of a self-aware potato, the sole survivor of a spaceship crash from the potato world. The objective is to endure waves of hostile aliens until rescue arrives. Encounters are timed, and surviving until the timer runs out lets you move on; defeating every enemy is not required.
How do you control the potato?
Swipe across the smartphone screen to move and steer around approaching aliens. Weapons fire automatically by default, so the central task is moving while enemies close in. The source also describes an option to switch to manual aiming. As levels progress, more aliens appear, and you must dodge them while managing your ammunition.
What happens during each encounter?
The survival waves are described as lasting from 20 to 90 seconds. You can attack enemies, but staying alive until the timer ends is enough to advance. The game allows you to equip up to six weapons at once, with examples including submachine guns, flamethrowers, clubs and stones.
How can you shape a run?
You can choose from dozens of characters, including a one-handed warrior, a berserker, a lucky raider and a mystic. During combat, collect materials to gain experience and use the shop to purchase items. The source describes hundreds of items and weapons for assembling different configurations, while progression unlocks more options and brings increasing challenges.
What is the game's premise?
Your potato character is stranded after the crash and must withstand repeated alien attacks while waiting to be rescued. The combination of timed survival, movement, weapon choices and shop purchases forms the main loop; the source does not require eliminating every enemy to progress.
