About this app
ShellVPN - Fast Unlimited VPN lets users select a virtual location and route their internet traffic through an encrypted VPN tunnel. The app describes this function as a way to browse and stream while using a VPN connection.
Choose a virtual location
The app lists more than 50 locations worldwide and lets users choose one to use as their virtual location. The description gives the United States and Australia as examples, but does not detail the individual locations or explain how to select one. Location choice is presented as useful for reaching streaming content associated with different regions.
VPN traffic and streaming
ShellVPN says it sends encrypted information through a secure tunnel. It also describes a proprietary VPN protocol that disguises the connection as normal traffic and is intended to make it harder to detect or disable. These are claims in the app description, not independent assessments of the protocol or its protection.
The listing presents streaming as a use for the VPN connection and names Netflix, HBO, and Disney+ as examples of services. It also claims unlimited bandwidth, but does not provide details about streaming performance or availability for particular services. Users can also use the VPN for general browsing, including while shopping online or using public Wi-Fi.
Other documented details
The description states that a premium account can connect up to five devices at the same time. It also says the free version can access international content, while warning that network congestion may occur because of overcrowding. These details distinguish the stated multi-device allowance from the free-version information; the listing does not explain other account terms.
The app description further claims a strict no-logging policy and says personal information is not collected or shared. This is the provider's stated policy, rather than a separately verified guarantee. ShellVPN is listed as available for Android, Windows, and Mac, while iOS support is described as planned for the future.
