About this app
QuickCast|Web Video|Chromecast/DLNA/Airplay/FireTV lets users cast web videos to a TV or streaming receiver that supports a compatible casting method. Its main purpose is to bring video from web sources to a larger screen, with support also described for music, images, and live-streaming content.
Casting web video and other media
The app is described as working with video sources including YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Video, Vimeo, and Facebook. It can also cast music and images from a mobile device, so its stated use is not limited to web video. The source identifies Chromecast, AirPlay, DLNA receivers, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, and Smart TVs among the supported device types; actual compatibility depends on the receiving device and its support for the relevant casting method.
Live-streaming content
QuickCast lists live streaming as another casting use and describes starting a live stream with one click. The source does not specify particular live-streaming services or explain additional controls, so this feature is best understood as a general option for casting live content rather than support for a named provider.
Compatibility and assistance
Before casting, users are advised to check that their receiver is compatible. The app's listed range includes devices using DLNA or AirPlay as well as the named streaming-device categories, but the description does not give a complete compatibility list. For help with problems or to share feedback and suggestions, users can contact the QuickCast team by email.
