Hushed - Second Phone Number apk

Temporary numbers for calls and texts

Hushed provides temporary phone numbers that can be used to make calls and send text messages separately from a user's primary number. According to the supplied material, the app offers more than 300 area codes across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. This range lets users choose a number that fits a particular purpose, such as business contact, online dating, or reducing unwanted calls.

Protecting a primary number

The main purpose described in the source is privacy. When a user calls or texts from a Hushed number, the recipient sees that number instead of the user's real phone number. The source gives selling items online and short-term projects as examples where this helps keep personal details confidential. It also suggests using a temporary number for online transactions, sign-ups, or forms, which can reduce the exposure of the primary number to spam.

Voicemail, call forwarding, and auto-replies

Several supporting tools focus on handling incoming communication. The source states that every virtual number includes voicemail for managing missed calls. Call forwarding can redirect calls to a primary number or another phone line. The app also supports auto-reply texts, which the source describes as useful for answering inquiries when the user is away from their device.

How calls are carried

The app uses VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), which means calls are made over an internet connection rather than through traditional long-distance carrier routing. The source presents this as a way to avoid long-distance charges for international calls. The supplied material does not list specific rates, so cost details should be checked directly before relying on them.

Setup and number management

The source describes an interface intended for straightforward navigation. Users manage their numbers within the app, and the source states that switching SIM cards or using additional hardware is not required. Temporary numbers can be deleted when they are no longer needed, which the source presents as practical for both short-term and long-term use.

Subscriptions and renewal

Subscriptions are offered in one-line and three-line options for users who need more than one number. The source also mentions a 20% discount on annual plans. Subscriptions renew automatically unless the user deactivates them at least 24 hours before the renewal date. According to the source, changes and cancellations can be made through the app settings.

Limitations

Hushed is not designed for emergency services, including 911 calls. The source advises users to keep a regular phone number for emergency situations.
